Episode #007

Words that have two (or more) meanings in German

Even advanced German learners do occasionally come across sentences that seem to make absolutely no sense.

The reason might be : They've encountered a homonym - a word that can have two or even more meanings.

For example: "Max ist sehr musikalisch. Er hat einen Flügel gekauft." - Did Max really buy a wing - like a fairy wing or a bird's wing? And ... what has being musical got to do with it?

Find out more about homonyms like "der Flügel" in this Podcast Episode.
