Episode #027

Brand names that became part of everyday speech

When you come to Germany, you will hear everyday words you won't find in any dictionary.

The reason might be: this word was originally just a brand name that has become generic - just like "Aspirin" has become the common term for "acetylsalicylic acid" - or even any pain relief medication.

Find out about words Germans use daily in the office, in the kitchen, or for other items ... often without even realizing that there has ever been a brand behind it.
This Podcast episode will help you to understand names for objects Germans use in everyday life.
